GREEN BANK PROJECT

Green Bank project is a result of collaboration between UTAR and Go Greenonline Sdn. Bhd. The Go Greenonline Sdn. Bhd. has years of successful experience in dealing with recycling work in Pangkor Island. Green Bank Programme aims to promote successful waste segregation culture among UTAR staff and students; engage undergraduate students in waste segregation activities through Recycle Ranger programme, and carry out projects parallel to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), outlined by the United Nations. In the year 2020, the total waste collected weigh 1,817 kg, while to date, the total waste collected, in weight, increased to 3,838kg. Go Greenonline arranges the collection when the green bank reaches its capacity and the recyclables will be sent to selected recycling management companies. 

Presently, it is recorded that there is a continuous effort from the university community in depositing their recyclable items.  Promotion for the programme is also made through mail masters which were sent several times. It was recorded that there were 136 members registered for the programme and some participants have received their e-wallet cash rewards.

Be a part of the UTAR Green Bank Project

Here are 2 simple but important steps to follow before sending your recyclables to the Green Bank!

Step 1: Register as a Green Bank Member
You will receive an e-mail notification regarding your account log in details once successfully registered. In future, you can check the green points obtained through 
your account.

Step 2: Join Microsoft Team
Join Microsoft Team using the team code 240juvu to get your membership code.
Select “file” and look for “Green Bank Membership Info”.

Step 3: Start recycling
Now you can bring your recyclables and store it in GREEN BANK.

Gain credit in your Touch 'nGo eWallet

All you need to do is install the Touch 'nGo eWallet app in your handphone. 


Once you have obtained 100 Green Points, an amount of RM10 will be credited into 
your Touch 'nGo eWallet by the system.

Credit will be based on your handphone number.

Details for recycling:
- Separate your recyclables accordingly and bring them to the Green Bank. 
- Green Ranger will be available to assist and advice during the operating slot as below.

Monday: 2 to 3 pm
Thursday 11 am to 12 nn, 5 to 6 pm
Friday 1 to 2 pm

Please note that all recyclables must be in DRY and CLEAN condition.

The collection will be done by the appointed vendor once the chamber is full.
